Independent by Principle
We started out independent, and we’ve stayed that way. Our recommendations aren’t driven by any sales quotas. When we suggest a platform or method, it’s because it’s the right fit for you.
About Us
Since 1995, we have been helping organizations visualize, understand, and manage their IT landscapes. What began as a university spin-off has evolved into a specialist in enterprise architecture. Today, we are trusted by companies that are leaders in their industries.
Trends come and go. We've seen them all. What remains is the question we've been answering since 1995: How does information lead to better decisions?
Our History
We have grown alongside our clients’ IT environments. The transition to the euro, Y2K, the first EA tools, the cloud, and now AI: Each wave has changed the way we work, but not the task itself. Here are a few milestones from the past thirty years.
Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar and Dr. Bettina Schwarzer founded ITM as a spin-off of the Chair of Business Informatics at the University of Hohenheim. The founding vision: scientific rigor applied to actual IT management and real-world IT environments.
We are implementing a large-scale transformation of the IT landscape in preparation for the introduction of the euro, followed immediately by a comprehensive Y2K assessment. Working on large and complex application landscapes will become our core business.
We are becoming an Alfabet partner. Enterprise architecture tooling is evolving from a side issue to an enabler of major transformations.
Large-scale application portfolio rationalization in the automotive industry. The industry has been a key focus of our work ever since.
We joined the LeanIX partner network early on. Reports generated by our development team are now running in more than 350 SAP LeanIX workspaces worldwide.
Comprehensive SAP LeanIX Rollouts in the Automotive Industry: Tools, Methodology, and Adoption—from the First Workshop to Day-to-Day Operations.
We build MCP-based solutions that connect EA repositories with AI assistants. This allows architecture data to be retrieved and used right where decisions are made.
Specialist in enterprise architecture and business process management for complex transformation programs; certified SAP and Bizzdesign partner.
What We're Doing TodayThe Team
Effective consulting requires continuity. That is why, at our firm, the same point of contact accompanies a project from start to finish—often for many years in the case of long-term projects. This consistency also characterizes our leadership: Our management team has remained unchanged since 2003.
Managing Director
With ITM since 1996; Managing Director since 2003.
Who We Work For
No one opens up their IT infrastructure lightly. We are proud that companies setting the pace in the automotive, mechanical engineering, financial, and telecommunications industries entrust their systems to us—many of them year after year.

What Drives Us
We started out independent, and we’ve stayed that way. Our recommendations aren’t driven by any sales quotas. When we suggest a platform or method, it’s because it’s the right fit for you.
We got our start at a university department, and it shows: trend and future research continues to inform our consulting work to this day, ensuring that your architecture is ready for what’s to come—not just for what is.
Many of our colleagues have been working with clients for years. As a result, they have a detailed understanding of your system architecture, organization, and processes. This enables us to develop recommendations and solutions that are tailored to your company and can be implemented in practice.
We measure our commitment by results, not by the number of days billed. That's why clients who start a project with us often stay with us for years.
Where We Work
We've been based here since 1995: right in the heart of one of Europe's most densely industrialized regions and never far from our customers' factories.
One location, no boundaries. We work on-site with our clients, across time zones and continents, and remotely, wherever it best serves the project.
In 30 minutes, we'll work together to determine whether and how we can support you.
